Five dolphins were found stranded on the 21st of August 2019 at the beach of Broome's Roebuck Bay. It's the second stranding this year, and despite the effort of volunteers and the Park and Wildlife Service staff to keep the mammals alive, none of the dolphins survived. Two of them died as a result of their stranding, the remaining three have been euthanased - one had severe injuries and the other two have been assessed with a low survival chance.

Further testing is required to confirm the species.
